Are you ready for boot season? Let's get some tips to complement your favorite boot style with jeans!
Jeans with Knee-High Boots
Knee-high boots are a statement best worn with a sleek pair of skinnies. Their tapered leg is easier to tuck into a boot, plus they’re ultra-flattering. If skinny jeans aren’t your thing, a quick solution is to cuff & roll straight-leg or your favorite bootcut jean into a high sock, then slip on your boot. Confused? Check out the step-by-step instructions here.
The other option is to not tuck at all! Simply wear your bootcut or wide-leg jeans pulled over your boots to fake the look of flats.
Tip: Try an all-black look! Wear black denim & black boots to achieve the illusion of mile-long legs. It’s a win-win. And, if your boots are brown or cognac, opt for a skinny jean in a burgundy or olive to mimic the tone-on-tone look.
Jeans with Midi-Boots
Since the midi boot typically has a slouchier, more casual feel, the ideal denim style is a straighter silhouette. Opt for a pair that can fall easily inside the boot or be cuffed & rolled. (Note: There’s really no wrong way to cuff & roll—sometimes the sloppier the chicer.) Ask your Stylist for straight, skinny or boyfriend jeans if you wear midi boots.
Tip: To achieve the cool cuff above, roll your boyfriend jean hem twice so it hits just above your boot. Don’t think too hard about making it neat—just cuff & go!
Jeans with Ankle Booties
A true ankle bootie that hits right at, well, your ankle is incredibly versatile! Try pairing them with cropped skinnies, a rolled boyfriend or a slightly frayed hem. Ankle booties are also ideal for non-blue denim—the low rise best shows off your full leg of color.
Tip:This season, ask your Stylist for a pair of on-trend jeans that have an interesting ankle detail, like zippers. Part of the fun is showing off your ankle and drawing attention to that ladylike feature. If you want something even edgier, unzip them just a bit to reveal more.
